Medicare Supplement Plans Work For You

Medicare Supplement Insurance is commonly referred to as Medigap Insurance. Either way, it is a policy which helps pay some of the health care costs that original Government Medicare doesn’t cover, like: Co-payments, Coinsurance and Deductibles.

Medicare Supplement Plans are offered by many top profile insurance companies. The Plans are named with a “letter” which tells you what that particular Plan covers. The list of ‘lettered plans” are Plan A, B, C, D, F, HD-F, G and N.

An interesting fact about all of these plans is that every company that offers them must have the same core benefits. So, a Plan A from Company XYZ, must have the same core benefits as Plan A from Company ABC.

However, due to the cost of living in any given area there will be considerable differences on the monthly premium charged for the same plan type. There may be some additional features added by a company to make them unique as well, but knowing this basic definition should help to eliminate some confusion.

Perhaps the most challenging consideration about choosing a Medicare Supplement Plan is “How It Does or Does Not Fit Your Needs and Budget”.
